Harvey John accountancy recruitment is working with a centrally basedBrightonbusiness with the recruitment of a Project Accountant on an initial six month contract. Depending on success, this could transfer to a permanent position.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the job holder will take responsibility for the project financial reporting tasked with developing financial management procedures and documentation whilst providing timely and accurate information to both clients and project managers. In addition, the assisting in the preparation of the monthly management accounts.

Duties and responsibilities to include:
* Liaise with project management to ensure financial contractual obligations are met and approved internally prior to client issue
* Maintain Project Finance records to include expenses, consultants invoices, monthly sales invoices, purchase invoices and recharge items
* Weekly review of approved timesheets to report on utilisation and on-going project costs
* Compile monthly project profitability reports


Applicants will be professionally qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with a proven track record in procedure writing and implementation. Relevant experience in a similar project accounting role with ideally knowledge of project structure within a client / consultant environment.

A strong working knowledge of Contract terms including hourly and lump sum billing and in particular how to manage these in the billing process would be advantageous. Meticulous by nature with excellent technical accounting ability including experience with Sage Line 50.
