Harvey John accountancy recruitment is working exclusively with a successful Brightonbusiness with the recruitment of a Financial Controller.

Working with and reporting to the owners of the business, the Financial Controller will manage a small team being responsible for the entire finance function as well as assisting with business strategy from a financial point of view.

Applicants should assume that, although there is support, this is a hands-on role. Duties to include the production and maintenance of management accounts; prepare monthly payroll ensuring compliance with current legislation; preparation of financial statements and audit file for year end audit; cash-flow forecasts; preparation of VAT returns; calculation of foreign exchange requirements and to motivate and manage a small finance team.

Applicants will be professionally qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with previous experience within a SME environment. Strong system skills especially Excel with first class communication and presentation skills are of course a prerequisite.
