You will be joining the Trust at an exciting time of transformation as we integrate West Sussex Health and South Downs Health NHS Trust to develop the new Sussex Community Trust. We are aiming to provide the best community services in the country and are committed to building long term relationships and developing proactive communication with our staff and patients.
We envisage this post holder will assist the Trust in improving our listening, feedback and engagement skills with our stakeholders as well as encouraging all sectors of our community to participate more effectively with the design and delivery of our services. You will lead on the development of a clear, contemporary market presence, developing and implementing the organisation's internal and external communications, public relations and marketing intelligence strategies.
You will advise and support members of the executive team and other senior managers in their communications with external partners - particularly in sensitive and `high challenge' situations and represent the Trust on issues of media interest - acting as the guardian of the Trust's reputation and corporate style. Ideally your experience to date will include development and delivery of communications within a service provider and involvement in the foundation Trust process. A firm understanding of primary care would be an advantage.
You will lead a small team and role model high standards of practice in communications across the Trust, acting as the guardian of the Trust's reputation. You will be educated to postgraduate level in communications, public relations and/or marketing or able to demonstrate equivalent skills or knowledge through experience. You will have significant experience of managing a specialist communications/public relations function in a large organisation at a senior level and influencing others in a complex and changing environment.
