Harvey John are working with a US conglomerate who have shared services centres across these three locations, each of whom are part of an EMEA network that deals with a variety of complex multinational businesses across the group company.

In the last year, this EMEA team have made the first steps in building a dedicated VAT team and we're now helping them recruit and EMEA VAT Compliance Analyst to be based in a location of your choice:

About the role

Reporting directly to the EMEA VAT Compliance Specialist, you'll be working in a technically challenging cross border role that will provide excellent exposure for those seeking to broaden their geographical technical knowledge.

More importantly, being part of newly created VAT function means that you're not inheriting poor processes and practices. Instead, you get to create the processes and the foundations for how the VAT team will continue to work!

A typical day will see you:

• Working with the EMEA VAT Compliance specialist and EMEA VAT Manager in dealing with tax queries received from the wider business and external stakeholders
• Preparing of VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and Instrastats for multiple jurisdictions
• Identifying system process improvement opportunities
• Responsible for maintaining the monthly VAT balance sheet reconciliations
• Migrate VAT and statistical returns into the compliance centre from local markets
• Assisting with reviewing the indirect tax compliance process controls

About you

• You must have at least 3 year's VAT compliance experience and have filed for multiple jurisdictions
• Ideally you will be working in an in-house VAT role, but we are also open to consider those from accounting firms
• Experience with SAP and/or JD Edwards would be highly advantageous (but not required).
