We currently have a vacancy for an experienced team member to join us as a Mechanic / Fabricator.

We are looking for a skilled 4x4 mechanic who can also do fabrication work. We work only on 4x4 vehicles and the work varies from basic servicing, building differentials (we will train you for this), carrying out conversions, competition and overland preparation as well as complete one off custom builds.
The work is varied and interesting, we work on a wide variety of makes, with Jeep and Toyota being our main manufacturers as well as Nissan, Mitsubishi, and several others.
You will need to have a comprehensive tool kit (we supply the specialised tools and workshop equipment). You will need to be proficient at Mig and TiG welding and be able to use basic metal working equipment such as a folder, Guillotine, Plasma cutter and spot welder. The work often involves fabricating one off parts for high dollar custom 4x4 vehicles. Experience and ability is viewed to be more important than paperwork and we would require you to be able to work to a high standard (mostly unsupervised) with the ability to input on the design aspect. Please note, we are happy to consider an older candidate.

In 1989, Surrey Off-Road Specialists Limited started out in a small industrial unit in Cranleigh, Surrey, specializing exclusively in 4x4 vehicle repairs and customising. Within a year the Company doubled in size, staff and units and continued to expand. We are currently situated in Dunsfold Surrey. 

We have established ourselves internationally. We work on most makes of 4x4 and have carried out design work and builds for the Ministry of Defence, Land Rover (Military and Government Division), Daimler-Chrysler, VW, Skoda and Mercedes-Benz. We do a lot of one off custom work and generally always have a project on the go.
