Graduate in Computer Science or similar, seeking first step into technology sector?

A dynamic software company in Godalming is seeking a graduate with degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Programming, Computer Information Systems or simliar to join them as a Trainee Application Support Engineer

Joining a small team the Trainee Application Support Engineer will provide support on their bespoke system to business customers.

You may already have carried out an internship in a customer facing role (helpdesk or 1st line) providing support to clients.

Joining a small team the role will involve speaking to customers with program support. This is mostly dealing with general queries on both the day to day use of the program as well as technical queries in the following areas:

• set-up and maintenance of the program
• interfaces to other programs that the customer may be using
• back-ups

Additionally the successful applicant will have to:

• give demonstrations of the programs key features to potential customers
• demonstrate advanced features to existing customers

Experience:

• Some customer facing experience.
• Ability to pick up new software quickly and work in a team.
• Whilst previous knowledge in MS Azure, SQL Server, Oracle, C#, C++, .net. Web technologies would be advantageous, training in these areas, and in the system, will be provided.

Candidate:

• Excellent written/verbal skills
• Exceptional communication & analytical skills
• Strong Customer service skills
• Degree educated or some science/mathematical qualification
• Ability to recreate the problem in house and resolve – not just forward to a developer

When needed, the successful candidate will need to be flexible to work outside of standard office hours to deliver the right solution for an international customer base.

Salary depends on experience: circa £18-20k.
