As a leadership team we will stand at your side, supporting you every step of the way A Message from Mary Blanchard - Service Leader As the new Service Leader for the Resilience and Permanence Service (R&P) I am looking for Social Workers and Practice Managers to help build this new service putting permanence for our children first. You will enjoy the challenge and rewards of court work and the satisfaction of seeing children through to their permanent placements including adoption and special guardianship. For our long term looked after children you will want to help them develop resilience, identity, recover from trauma and plan for their futures. We use both Signs of Safety and models of Developmental Trauma and Attachment to inform our assessments, interventions and care plans. Court work can be demanding and to help you we have, as part of R&P, a specialist multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention service to target the right intervention to help the right parent/carer and also provide evidence based reports for court. For our looked after children we have, as part of R&P, a specialist in-house multi-disciplinary CAMHS and Early Therapeutic Interventions Service providing ready access to assessment and expert treatment options. We also have in development a High Risk Adolescent Project and well developed Care Leavers Service. Along with our colleagues in the wider children’s social care service ,we know we can be outstanding on behalf of our children and we also know we have to put in the work to get there. We need like-minded social workers and practice managers like you, looking for an opportunity to make a difference and develop their careers, to join us in this undertaking. As the new Service Leader, supported by two experienced Service Development Managers, my aim is to create an environment where staff feel safe and supported but also encouraged and enabled to develop professional and personal skills to excel in their roles and find the rewards for this in the best possible outcomes for our children. My view is that we are all in this together as senior managers, managers, social workers and support staff for all the highs and the lows and it is support, safety and courage which helps us all grow and do our best and to be able to model this for our children in all that we do.
