About the Role
Are you passionate about helping businesses grow and thrive in East Sussex? Are you a good communicator who can build up strong relationships with a variety of organisations and people?
If so, you could be the person we’re looking for to join our dynamic team working to make East Sussex a great place to do business.
We are looking for a Business Relationships and Network Coordinator to join the Economic Development and Skills Team at East Sussex. You will be responsible for making sure the voice of businesses is heard and can inform the development of strategies and plans by developing and brokering strong relationships between local businesses and the Council. In doing this, you will help to deliver on the aim and vision set out in the East Sussex Growth Strategy, the East Sussex Innovation Statement and Employment and Skills Strategy.
A lot of this work will be face to face, so you will need strong communication and influencing skills, and be confident talking to people at all levels in a number of different arenas. You’ll also need good analytical skills to be able to interpret and present technical data. You will work closely within a supportive team, but will be expected to use your own initiative and come up with new ideas. You will help develop innovative solutions to new issues as they arise, helping the team to support businesses through some changing times ahead.
Experience of working in business would be an advantage, but what matters most is that you have the right attitude and personal skills to be able to take on this challenging but rewarding role.
Additional Information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
Equal Opportunities
East Sussex County Council is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. All applications are treated on merit.
