About the Role

We are looking for an inspirational SENCO to join our happy school.  You will work alongside teachers and teaching assistants to co-ordinate, plan and assess the SEND provision of the school.  It is envisaged the role will be for one day per week. This position is being offered on a fixed term basis, but is likely to become permanent at the end of the year, subject to the school’s needs as determined by the Governing Body.  Experienced and qualified SENCOs are most welcome to apply, but we will also consider applications from qualified teachers who have had experience of coordinating SEND provision since the school can provide appropriate training.

The successful candidate will: - Be a qualified teacher with experience of coordinating SEND provision and may hold the SENCO qualification or be willing to   undergo training in order to obtain the SENCO qualification. - Work in partnership with the SLT and Governors, leading on Inclusion and SEND. - Be able to lead and manage staff in developing and implementing effective provision for vulnerable pupils, able to manage   the interventions considered necessary for these pupils. - Have experience in working with outside agencies. - Have experience and knowledge of working within the field of safeguarding. - Know how to support pupils with emotional and/or behaviour needs in order to access a mainstream curriculum. - Have a good understanding and practice in record preparation and keeping, in relation to SEND pupils.
