Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

When it comes to dementia, the facts tell a powerful story. There will be 850,000 people with dementia in the UK by 2015 – and that number is set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. But these facts get more complicated when you look at them from a local level. West Sussex, East Sussex and Brighton & Hove have the largest over-80’s population in England and there are already around 27,451 people with dementia across this geographical area.

So it will come as no surprise that we can offer you a stimulating and challenging career as part of our growing local team.

We are now looking for an exceptional individual to be part of the established West Sussex Memory Assessment Service and will operate from our base in Mid Sussex. The dementia adviser provides a highly responsive, individualised information, signposting and referral service to people with a diagnosis of dementia and those that care for them. This could be in a Memory Clinic, the client's own home, at service offices or at other locations, face to face, by phone, letter or email. The service may include signposting and providing referrals to other services. We are looking for an individual who possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent). Your ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgmental communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills in order to manage your caseload of clients effectively.
