About the Role

We are seeking for a Trust Clerk to Governors who will provide high level governance advice, support and specific administrative assistance to several DCAT local governing bodies of academy schools in the Hastings district.

This will involve arranging meetings, setting and communicating agendas with consultation with the Chair of the Board, taking minutes, keeping appropriate and accurate records and advising the local governing bodies on local and national developments that will impact on their work. You should have appropriate administrative experience and experience of minute-taking is desirable. Good ICT and communication skills and be able to work with minimal supervision is essential. The ability to travel to academies based in the Hastings area is essential.

Training for new Clerks will be provided as well as opportunities to network with other clerks both within the Trust and the wider governance community. Flexibility in terms of working hours is required with approximately 6 full governing body meetings per year per academy usually early evenings and ad hoc clerking of working groups and panels, as required.

The number of hours will vary depending on the amount of schools and academies in the service. The expected number of hours will usually be 80-200 hours per year per academy. There are currently two schools in the service. Please note that many of the hours are in the evenings and therefore candidates should have good availability outside of normal working hours.

Please note that due to the nature of this post, the role is paid on an hours worked basis.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
