About the role In this pivotal and influential role, you will hold full statutory responsibility on behalf of the Council for the Traffic Management Act 2004. You will be the designated Traffic Manager for Brighton & Hove, ensuring the development, delivery and monitoring of a co-ordinated and effective traffic network management strategy across the City. You will be responsible for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team who will be looking to you for leadership and support. The team has recently been restructured and its’ capacity increased, to deal with an increasing workload which encompasses our industry leading road and street-works permit scheme and all aspects of the Council’s Intelligent Transport System including Urban Traffic Control and Highways Enforcement. You will also play a key role in supporting the ongoing modernisation of the Council’s Transport Service to improve performance and to achieve the highest standard of customer service About you You will be a leader whose expertise in street works and network management will enable you to establish credibility, as well as engender support and take your team to the next level in innovation. You will have considerable skill in establishing and maintaining strong networks and productive partnerships with a range of stakeholders and elected members.
