CareLink Plus operates 24 hours, seven days a week, providing community alarm telecare services, as well as co-ordinating a range of out-of-hours functions. In this demanding frontline role you will use your excellent communication and customer service skills working in a busy multi-tasking environment. This interesting dual aspect role will see you working both in our call centre, as well as customer homes in the community. In our call centre – You will be answering alarm and telephone calls and co-ordinating responses, including life critical calls handling. Liaising with family members, emergency services and other professional teams. Updating our database with accurate information, as you liaise with the emergency services and other teams, will necessitate a calm demeanour as well excellent team working skills. We have various shift patterns in the control centre relating to our 24/7 operation. Out of office hours we take on a number of other council services such as Adult Services, Mental health, and Child Services, for which we answer calls, assess priority, identify solutions & help for those in crisis, and signpost less critical callers to daytime teams and other services. In the community - You will be, conducting assessments, demonstrating, installing and maintaining CareLink Plus Telecare alarm equipment. You will also be required to visit customers in their homes in response to emergency call outs, taking part in regular on call duties out of hours during the night. Due to this you must live within the city of Brighton and Hove. Your experience of providing services to vulnerable client groups, and ability to quickly and calmly assess an emergency situation and take/recommend practical actions, will be supported by basic First Aid knowledge and a manual driving license. You will be required to work some weekends as part of your regular working pattern, in addition to hours worked during the week. Due to the specialized nature of the work, an initial bespoke training program must be undertaken. You must have the capability and the aptitude to learn new skills and develop these to required standards within an allocated time frames. Good ICT skills are required.
