We are looking for a well-motivated person to work with customers and help with enquiries in a Library Assistant post. You will be responsible for contributing to the effective and efficient provision of a customer facing library service, undertaking a range of tasks as directed. With experience of working in a customer care environment, you will enjoy working with library customers and have excellent communication and organisational skills. The role involves assisting customers to use self-service, tidying and shelving books and other library/clerical duties. You will be computer literate and have the ability to use your initiative and work effectively within the team. You will have active involvement in working with all ages, including children’s work (e.g. Baby Rhyme Time and Story Time) and working with volunteers. This is an active role and some lifting will be required. There will be some lone working.
