This is an excellent career progression opportunity for an experienced Accountant who aspires to be a future Director of Finance in a University environment.  The University is growing fast, with exciting plans for the future, which will give you the opportunity to become involved in a number of capital projects.

 

In this post you will play a leading role as a senior member of the Finance team acting as Deputy for the Director of Finance and Performance.  You will lead and manage the team of Management Accountants who are responsible for delivering specialist financial advice to the business, and oversee and facilitate the procurement function across the University.

 

The post holder will also be responsible for the development and provision of financial management information and guidance throughout the University. You will also support in the co-ordination, production and consolidation of financial management information for University senior management, governors and external bodies.

 

Applicants will need to be CCAB qualified with a minimum of three year's post qualification experience and must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of costing and financial management.  Significant experience leading a management accounting or finance team, and the production of management accounts. The provision of sound and effective financial advice to senior management is essential.

 

You will have a strong commitment to customer service and demonstrable interpersonal skills that enable you to liaise with staff and external contacts at all levels.  An ability to remain resilient and self-motivated to deliver success in a changing and challenging environment is vital.  You will need to possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and enjoy working as part of a team with a positive approach to support the growing University.
