The Students' Union is a random place sometimes and the work of the communications team definitely reflects this. We switch from advising on how to get students onto the electoral register to designing cute tampon characters as part of our project to give out free sanitary products. In the same day you might also contribute to the development of a video about the cost of living in Brighton then round it off with brainstorming ideas for how to turn our budget spreadsheet into something students can understand and be interested in.   We're looking for someone to bring their design skills and communications savvy to our team and share that knowledge and experience with our colleagues as we continue to decentralise our communications work.   Working in conjunction with the rest of the communications team you will advise Union staff and officers on how best to communicate their messages with students. You'll produce high quality design work for print and digital channels and assist others to deliver their own communications and design projects.   This is a great opportunity for someone looking for the next step in their career as we offer lots of development and support in a friendly working environment. You'll have a lot of scope to contribute your ideas and perspective though you'll also need to be flexible.   Your responsibilities will include:   Delivering high quality creative solutions from initial brief to finished product within agreed timescales Advising colleagues on how to communicate their messages by coordinating a training programme and ongoing support Liaising with colleagues, students and external suppliers Acting as a key contact for design issues   We welcome applications from everyone, including but not exclusive to; postgraduates, people with an ethnic minority background, people with a disability, people with dependants, and people who identify as LGBTQ . If you have any suggestions as to how we could improve our language or application process please let us know.
