The Systems Configuration Analyst will take responsibility for some stages of the system application development and support lifecycle of small to medium scale IT solutions. This includes specification of requirements, system application development, system application build and configuration, application testing, application 2nd and 3rd level support, and documentation. They also may take responsibility for the deployment, support and maintenance of specific system applications, as well as impact assessments for changes and upgrades. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a specialist team providing system configuration for a range of key business systems in West Sussex. The role will include specification, implementation, configuration, testing and documentation of procured, new and amended system applications as directed in accordance with agreed standards. These activities will help to ensure that the Authority’s core IT systems, primarily those used in the Adult’s and Children’s Directorates, are implemented, supported and developed in line with national and local strategies, initiatives and policies. The post holder will work closely with customers and partners to help develop and support system application solutions that deliver business improvements and facilitate business change. They will have an understanding of some of the Council’s business processes, data and applications, so that they can develop new solutions of an optimum quality. They will also provide information, recommendations and advice as required to clients, partners and other colleagues. This role may also require the post holder to act as a guide and mentor to other junior staff so that they can improve their capability to carry out the required work.
