At West Sussex County Council we’re embarking on a major transformational programme to ensure high quality services for residents over the long-term whilst meeting our financial challenges. Our Finance Division will play its part by providing our leadership team with effective financial advice and decision-making, as well as options analysis, investment appraisals and budget management – and you could be on their team.

That’s because, right now they are undertaking an improvement plan to upskill and tackle the challenges they face whilst maintaining their focus on supporting existing budgets. As a result, they’re looking for ambitious and enthusiastic Finance Officers to join their team – one full-time and one to cover maternity. Working as part of a flexible pooled resource of management accountants, you’ll be key to the provision of reliable, efficient and effective professional accountancy support that will enable the delivery of a first class specialist financial service.

Providing and day-to-day advice and challenge and guidance relating to the service, helping to ensure the timely production of month-end management accounts, maintaining records and responding to client queries – all are aspects of these interesting and varied roles.

A part-qualified CIPFA/CIMA Accountant with some practical experience, you’re keen to take on and experience new roles in the context of business requirements and risk. You also want to be part of a team that has a strong ethos of self-development, flexible working and a good team spirit.
