We are looking for exciting and dynamic individuals to deliver our Child Sexual Exploitation Service. Child sexual exploitation is a major child protection issue for communities across the UK. Hidden from view and going unnoticed, vulnerable young girls and boys are groomed and then abused, leaving them traumatised and scarred for life. Barnardo's is the largest provider of child sexual support exploitation services in the UK. Last year we worked with more than 1,452 victims through 23 specialist services. Our services work hard to identify and reach out to young people at risk in the community. By showing concern and building trust, our work helps children to break free of abusive and exploitative relationships. We are looking for individuals with the skills, drive and commitment to develop and deliver an exemplar service, along with a strong understanding of the local issues of Sussex, who can work closely with our multi agency partners. In summary we are looking for: - Demonstrable knowledge and experience of multi-agency working within formal systems of Child Protection - Considerable experience of working directly with young people with complex needs - Substantial experience of working with issues of family breakdown, domestic violence/abuse, sexual abuse and exploitation, missing and lack of attachment. - Strong understanding of the issues and vulnerabilities young people who are at risk or experiencing sexual exploitation/missing may present with. - Able to engage with disaffected and challenging young people - Able to provide intensive one-to-one and group support to young people being sexually exploited. - Able to communicate effectively with clients from culturally diverse communities and demonstrate sensitivity to their needs - Able to appropriately challenge other professionals to promote the rights of the service users. - Able to demonstrate a non-judgemental attitude to young people including valuing each person as an individual. - Someone based within, and able to travel across Sussex, particularly West Sussex, as part of their day to day activity - Commitment to the vision of the South East and Anglia region - Someone who is creative and innovative in their ideas - A demonstrable commitment to delivering high quality services Closing Date: 23/07/2017 Interview Date(s): 4/07/2017
