The Prevent Education Officer (PEO) is a new and high profile role. We are seeking a dynamic, versatile and resilient individual with prior experience in the education sector. You will be a self-starter with an aptitude for sustained drive and delivering outcomes. The post holder will identify vulnerabilities and risks, deliver training and capacity building, build and maintain a network of contacts to improve coordination of Prevent activity amongst local education settings. Work with schools to increase their compliance with the Prevent duty, help shape local strategy and interventions to strengthen pupils, institutions and communities resilience to all forms of extremism. You will need to have: • Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate effectively to achieve successful outcomes. • Business planning skills with the ability to identify and assess risks, manage change and make long term plans. • Ability and skills to engage a range of partners and communities, promote trust and confidence to challenge extremist ideologies and develop resilience • Manage projects and competing priorities in a range of settings. • A high level of political awareness and link strategies for continuous improvement with the drive to achieve national, corporate and departmental standards and goals
