We require a part time Support Worker to join our team in providing care and support to the residents who live here at Hobbs Field, which is a residential home for adult with learning disabilities. It comprises of two separate houses, each having 8 bedrooms, lounge, dining and kitchen areas as well as laundry and bathroom facilities. As a Support Worker you will be supporting residents with personal care, communication, presence in the community, maintaining relationships with their family and friends, attending health and social appointments and developing and maintaining practical skills that are relevant to their individual needs and choices, including all aspects of their daily routines. You will need to be good at communicating and interacting with people in order to provide clear and concise advice to a range of residents. You will have the ability to build relationships with people and ensure that their views are heard and their needs are met. Providing you enjoy working with people and can communicate with them as an equal, we want to hear from you. This role can offer you the flexibility of working shifts to give you time off in the week and working part-time hours to ensure that you have a good work life balance. All mandatory training is provided in a variety of areas such as medication, infection control, food hygiene and moving and handling etc. There would also be the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification (Diploma in Care). Your working hours would be according to a 4 week rota and will include a variety of both early and late shifts as well as alternate weekends, some bank holidays and unsocial hours (after 8pm).
