About us: Brighton & Hove City Council provides over 700 services across the city. Balancing the budget and protecting essential services is harder than ever before. There are growing demands and significantly less money. The city’s population is growing and the cost of social care is rising. The Digital First programme is helping drive service transformation across the council. We are putting the customer at the heart of service design and making it easier to deal and communicate with the council. A key part of this transformation is creating a new, easy to use website for our residents. The ICT Analyst will help design and develop our new website working as part of a dynamic development team. The role: As an ICT Analyst you will be an enthusiastic web developer with a keen interest in design and a good understanding of user experience. You will work alongside developers, user experience designers and product managers, to produce effective front-end solutions. You will assist with the analysis of requirements, designs/wireframes in order to create a user focussed transactional website. You will work as part of the Digital First team, which is the council’s digital transformation programme. About you: You will have a relevant degree or equivalent or two years’ experience. You will have good creative design skills and are able to create with a knowledge of user experience design. You should have a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and some experience of working with a HTML5/CSS/SASS. Ideally you’ll have experience with Drupal, with responsive front-end development, with cross-browser compatibility best practises and with implementing accessible front-ends. You will be an individual with strong interpersonal skills, who likes working in a delivery focused, agile environment with multi-disciplinary teams.
