The Department of Theatre is an artist-led, practice based, research driven community, dedicated to drama, theatre and performance as an ever-evolving and inter-disciplinary academic discipline.

In the 2018 Guardian University Guide, Dance and Drama at Chichester is ranked 15th.
An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Theatre (Acting) as part of a continuing strategic initiative to strengthen and expand research and teaching in the Department.  Working closely with the Head of Department the post holder will lead in the development of BA (Hons) Acting Programme, with particular emphasis on skills co-ordination, employability, cultural practice and student expectation and satisfaction.

You will teach on all aspects of the under graduate and post-graduate programmes within the Department of Theatre in particular on acting modules, classical theatre and text.
Applicants must be an experienced teacher/student director with a broad understanding of theatre and drama, with strong evidence of delivery/involvement in HE projects. Ideally, you will have a doctorate or be working towards completion and must be able to demonstrate a strong research and scholarly profile with an ability to contribute to the REF 2021. Tangible professional theatre experience is essential.

The successful candidate will be pro-active, enthusiastic and enjoy working as a member of a small team.
