The South Downs National Park Authority is a brand new organisation that aims to conserve and enhance the South Downs and help people learn about and enjoy everything that makes the area special.
The Authority became fully operational on 1st April 2011 and we are looking for talented individuals to take this important work forward. We are committed to creating a modern, flexible organisation that works through partnership and supports local action.
We are looking for an Administration Assistant to join the Corporate Services Team, who will develop, implement and maintain administration systems, and where appropriate, supervise others, to deliver an efficient service in support of business requirements. You will also support officers of the Authority to ensure efficient, timely and responsive customer service across the organisation.
In order to be considered for the post you must have the following experience, qualifications and skills:
• Experience of providing excellent support and service, internally and externally in an administrative role
• Experience of administering financial procedures in line with standard policy.
• Experience of undertaking a diverse workload.
• Experience of meeting management and arranging events.
• Grade C or above GCSE Maths and English or equivalent OR proven competence in these areas.
• IT skills - ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications, preparing standard letters, reports and presentations and create, update and manipulate basic spreadsheets and databases.
• Ability to organise effectively and prioritise own workload in order to meet competing deadlines.
• Ability to deal with people sensitively and appropriately to their diverse needs ensuring confidentiality and a professional approach at all times.
• Ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels in the organisation and with external contacts.
• Ability to work independently within broad guidelines, seeking advice where appropriate and be equally effective as a team member.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following personal qualities:
• Good interpersonal skills and high standard of personal presentation
• Motivated and enthusiastic, willing to respond and deliver.

• Hours: 37 hours per week, job sharers will be considered
