About the Role
East Sussex Music is the local authority music service for East Sussex, and lead organisation of the East Sussex Music Education Hub. For the last 80 years our staff of around 70 full and part time teachers have been delivering outstanding music education to pupils, families and schools across the county. We deliver individual, small group and whole class lessons to pupils aged 5 - 18. We coach over 100 ensembles at our weekly area music centres, have a number of county level groups of a high standard, including the East Sussex Youth Orchestra and run an annual summer school for young musicians at all levels.
We are seeking innovative and creative instrumental and vocal teachers to join our panel to meet increasing demand from schools. Candidates will have achieved at least diploma level on their main instrument and be able to teach in groups including, where appropriate, multiple instruments within their specialism and whole class programmes in primary schools.
East Sussex Music offers its teachers a range of opportunities teaching in school, after-school and at Saturday music centres. We are committed to developing the skills and career opportunities for our staff through regular CPD sessions and opportunities to participate in our range of projects and programmes during the year with the support of our experienced teaching and leadership team.
